Namaste,
I am a Massachusetts state licensed massage therapist, polarity practitioner and Reiki master practitioner. I am a graduate of Cortiva Institue-Boston and Polarity Realization in Ipswich. I am also a Massachusetts state licensed Physician Assistant with over 30 years of clinical experience. I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and western medicine to my bodywork practice. I am a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association, the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. I am excited about transitioning into the profession of therapeutic massage and integrative bodywork.
I enjoy integrating therapeutic massage and energy therapies as they harmoniously work together to help bring the body, mind and spirit into balance. Balance helps strengthen the immune system and the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Though I cannot claim to be able to “fix” or heal anyone, I can help you learn how to relax, de-stress, and become more aware of your physical body. Bodywork is powerful, and embracing this work as an integral part of your healing and wellness plan can help you stand taller, breathe more deeply, move more fluidly, think more clearly, sleep more soundly and diminish pain.
I honor and respect the messages your body sends to my hands. These messages help me select the most appropriate therapeutic techniques for you during each session. The techniques I use include traditional Swedish relaxation massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, some craniosacral therapy, therapeutic touch, reiki and polarity therapy. I have also received specialized training in oncology massage under the guidance of Tracy Walton, LMT, a highly respected, nationally known pioneer and teacher of oncology massage. I also incorporate sound & vibrational techniques into some sessions. Vibrating tuning forks are placed on bony prominences next to muscles that are particularly tight to facilitate the release of muscular tension. Vibrating tuning forks can also be placed adjacent to the ears to encourage a deep state of relaxation. Most clients find the tuning forks very soothing and relaxing.
I invite you to partner with me on your healing and wellness journey. Together we will co-create a safe and supportive environment to help you discover new pathways to optimal health and well-being.
